PL1.3_PR – DEVELOPING AN INTEGRATED FOOD SYSTEM: AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH

Abstract:

Consumers worldwide have increasing expectations about the food they eat, how their food is produced and supplied and whether food is good for them. This is presenting new challenges and opportunities across the food system as many consumers are linking food, health and environmental sustainability, among other matters, with implications for agri-food supply chains, governments and other food stakeholders. How is Canada’s food system responding? What new win-win approaches are needed to respond to changing consumer food requirements and enhance the economic prospects of the food sector?
