FAMAN was established in 1984 with the aim of uplifting the observed downward trend in the fortunes of agriculture in the national economy. The membership of FAMAN among others includes private farmers and farm managers, public service agencies and other key stakeholders in agriculture and related areas such as financial institutions, research institutes, tertiary institutions. The association has organised various seminars and workshops and 20 annual national conferences in all the agro-ecological zones of the Country. They also organised the 7th African Farm Management Congress in Oct. 2004. The membership strength of FAMAN at the end of 2006 was 3,516.
